Je n'ai rien.

Okay, so funny story. Louboutin doesn't do refunds. They only do exchanges and store credit (for the store in Paris) So, oh. Haha. Ha. I just bought $600 dollar shoes. Oh wait, no no. $622 shoes.
I f*ing hate myself so hard right now. I'm such a poopoohead! (haha. n.)
I will never buy shoes ever again...in life. Or maybe I should put my ebay account to use?

Classes are interesting. There's an old boat captain and a nun in our class and things are awkward.
Me: My mom used to be a nun. Clearly, that didn't work out too well for her.
Nun: Oh, so she committed a sin.
Me: Uhhh....

And I swear, she is so touchy with the old boat captain. She always sits next to him and squeezes his shoulders and stuff. Which is like, okay, fine, you don't get to see men ever so I guess I'll let it slide.
I'm going to get like an extra week in purgatory for writing about this woman on my blog, but OMGAHHH, elle m'ennui.

Didn't do much today. We were tired from dealing with le déluge from the night before. But we did go to Le Palais Royale:

The French have balls of steel:

Tiff at Palais Royale:

We STILL don't have our WiFi password yet, so we're sitting in a hotel lobby (the one we had to stay at while they repaired our ceiling) using their free WiFi but the receptionist dude is riding our asses about it and asked us to leave shortly. Seriously? The marginal cost to you is ZERO. Just let me sit here and update in peace.

I can't wait to be in London.

Le Déluge

Bad news first:
Our apartment started leaking from the ceiling and I woke up at 5 in the morning thinking I had fallen asleep outside in the rain.

When the guy came over to check things out, he said, "Urgent?"

Stress levels are supposed to be lower here because Europeans tend to use increased productivity to expand leisure rather than income. But when everybody opts for leisure, who the hell is left to work?
Service is so much better in NYC. The "laid back" culture of Europe is stressing me out.

Tiffany expresses things a little more bluntly: "Don't they know that we're spoiled brats?!" [I know one of my New Year's resolutions was to not be a spoiled brat but maybe I have to start that once I return from France?]

We're in a hotel for the night while they fix things up. Merde.

My confidence has also been shot to hell. I'm much more sure of myself when I have the ability to bitch people out. I can do it in English and Korean. Mandarin too, depending on the situation. French, not so much.

But things could be worse...at least people aren't throwing chicken at me. [I'm so sorry that happened to you, n! Boys are stupid.]

Happier adventures from yesterday:

At lunch.

escargot. [see paragraph 6]

Tiff at Christian Louboutin on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré.

I must have forgotten that I'm not Paris Hilton, because I bought a pair of Louboutin Mary Janes for $600. Or maybe I thought that they would take me home if I clicked my heels together. In any case, I'm returning them tomorrow. Tell me that they're ugly.

Last Night in NYC

Went to Aquagrill for oysters tonight. They were yummy delicious.

X, Chands, Jo:
Here are the oysters we had, so you can remember which ones you liked:

Peale Passage: Washington...the ones where Chanda was like, "why are these creamy?" blah.
Fanny Bay: British Columbia. They were kinda sweet. We liked.
Moonstone: Rhode Island. Fuller. You all liked...I didn't like that it had an aftertaste.
Duxbury: MA. I don't remember what these tasted like, so I guess they were okay?
Raspberry Point: PEI. These were the smaller ones that had no aftertaste. Nyummy. (Tina, you were missed) Is it weird that I like the ones that taste like nothing the best?

It's my last night in NYC before I leave for Paris with Tiff. I'm SOY excited to leave, but also a little sad. I never really get to see you Stuy kids, and I'm sorry I'm always MIA. Always trying to run away from reality I guess.

Skype me.

OMGAHHHH next time I post, I will be in PARIS!

Resolutions.

Okay ----,
I know I said I would update this morning, but I fell asleep as soon as I got home.

The most awkward New Year's Eve kiss ever.
Before: "Wait, do you have herpes or anything?" [b/c you can never be too sure]
After: "It's 11:50. You're 10 minutes early, damn it."
[mini-fail!]

Will: I think my girlfriend's resolution should be to be less intellectual and more superficial, so she can appreciate my rock hard abs [PUKE. seriously? must you go out with this guy?]
----: Well, if she becomes more superficial, wouldn't you worry about yourself?
Will: Why?
----: Because if she becomes more superficial, she would want to be with a good looking guy.
[NICE.]

New Year's Resolutions:
1) Apply to a job...any job, even if it's not my dream job. Stop being a spoiled brat.
2) Be less snide, caustic, sarcastic...[well, maybe I'll still be a little sarcastic. what am i without my sarcasm, right?]
3) Read more books for fun.
4) Enter the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest every week until you win [this spills over from last year's resolutions b/c I only entered like twice last year...and did not win.]
5) Spend more time with the fams.
6) Be less awkward.
7) Think before I speak.

Things to look forward to: Here

Also, Standup Economist!
"People who are not trained in economics might think that giving you a choice between a Snickers bar and an identical Snickers bar is no different from offering you ONE snickers bar."
HA. Loves it.

Happy 2009!

Happy New Year!

Be warm.
